Sunday, June 5

Weather - Partly cloudy,  low 60's

Clothing - Black running shorts (Nike), Short sleeve tech shirt (black one more mile shirt),  fuel belt

Nutrition -   Ate nothing before. During the run:  (1) 8 oz water, (2) 8 oz powerade, ate a GU at mile 4.

Route -  Started at Burke Centre Parkway at Oak Green, went down Ox to Zion Dr (Exxon) and turned around.  Came back to the starting point and then took Burke Centre Parkway all the way down, across Old Keene Mill Road and made a left onto Goldfield.  Finished near the corner of Lapstrake and Goldfield.

Distance Completed: 7  miles

Time:  Started at 6:00am, took 1 hr, 22 minutes


J.W., T, and I met at 6:00am.  Originally on the schedule was a 3 mile run.  We felt like doing more and ended up running an additional 3 before I needed to take a longer than planned walking break.  We walked through 2 of the running sessions and then finished the rest running.  All told, we ran 7 miles.


Anything I'd do different?  Yes.  I started getting "chub rub".  Ugh!  Need to wear better shorts and start using body glide.

Mid-week runs - ran 5 miles on Wednesday, ran 4 miles on Friday; both on the treadmill at the gym.  It was great and I am starting to see some progress on the speed.  Also, I walked the Susan G. Komen 5k on Saturday.  It was a great exercise week.  A little more then 19 miles either walking or running.
